If the etiology was brucellosis or tuberculosis, the boar must be slaughtered. The presence of leptospirosis also makes advisable the elimination of the boar. If the infection has been caused by corynebacterium, streptos, staphylos, coliforms, can be treated with broad spectrum antibiotics, according to the results of the antibiogram in urine and semen. It can be used non steroidal antiflogistics in order to relieve pain and swelling. The boar could yield again a normal ejaculate if the seminiferous epithelium has not been strongly damaged, and the spermatogenic function can be recovered.
